 Great beginner snowshoe

The womens Atlas 8 Elektra is my first pair of snowshoes. They are easy to slip into and adjust, lightweight, and great on moderate terrain.
 They Have A Lot Going for Them

These are real basic snowshoes, not loaded with extras, but at the price, they have a lot of good things going for them. The spring loaded binding system works great. If you’ve ever stepped over a fallen log and had to struggle with a shoe that points at the ground and drags across the thing you’re trying to step over, you’ll appreciate this feature. Yeah the straps make the adjustment look confusing, but after using them a few times, they are actually really easy to use. They have ample crampons for rollling terrain. You wouldn’t want to go mountaineering with these things, but for recreational use on moderate terrain they are fine. |
