 Just About Perfect...
this Black Diamond Spot headlanp review by Ranger Dave
This new version of the Spot is great. I'll be using mine for a long time. Pros: Compact, lighweight, fully-featured headlamp with a powerful center LED with dimming options, two side white LEDs for use around camp (with strobe option), plus two red LEDs for maintaining your night vision (also with strobe option). Includes a battery-life indicator and a locking feature to prevent accidental turn-on in your pack. Great battery life with 3 AAAs (use lithiums for the best shelf-life and run time). Cons: fitting all those features into this small headlamp makes it complicated. Good luck figuring it all out without the instructions; I'm still working on finding the dimming feature. I think a separate slide switch for the locking feature would be better than the multi-multi-function button and extra flashing indicator. (PLEASE NOTE: updated instructions now shipping with clear details for all functions) |
