Diggin' These Snowshoes for Snowshoe Running
this Dion 121 Frame review by Mark in NH
A Review of the Dion Snowshoes 121 Frame, Dion Quick Fit Bindings & Dion Deep Cleats - This is my first pair of running snowshoes and my first time snowshoe running. I've hiked in Sherpas for 30 years, but started running a couple of years ago and heard about Dions in my running club, so figured I'd try them out. Wow, half a dozen runs in them so far and one of the best purchases I've made in a long time. I've done some snow running on cleats, which is great, but these Dions fit the bill when conditions are deeper and softer, and also when there are ankle-spraining deep footprints and postholes, which you float right over in these. The extra weight over microcleats also provides an enhanced workout even on hard-packed snow and crust, especially on hills, while your gait remains unchanged. Running in these will give any runner a leg up (sorry) come spring. Buy some!
Superb Racing / Running Snow Shoes!
this Dion 121 Frame review by Sahmon
At my local race series in Western NY, My new Dion 121 racing frames made a huge difference over my Crecent Moons! The direct shoe mount is killer! I blasted off to a second overall finish out of over 200 racers! Nice way to start the season - THANKS!
 Dion 121 Made the Difference!

Ordered these and then received the next day! So huge thank you and A+ recommendation to ORS Snowshoes Direct firstly. As far as the snowshoes themselves - super light weight, excellent fit, able to run through the powder and packed snow with amazing ease... so well designed compared to the off the rack big brands. Thank you, thank you, thank you ORS and Dion!
Light and Fast for Hard Packed Snow
this Dion 121 Frame review by Jim from WI
I rivet my shoes right to my snowshoes always. I have the standard Dion cleat riveted on also. I like their lightness and the binding holds well for little slop (heal slap) when really moving fast. They have placed me 1st and 3rd so far! They are very narrow so if you kick your ankles, you will love these. Only drawback I see is in deep snow (uneven powder), or unpacked trails they are not very stable I believe due to their narrowness and light cleat. The nose seems to stick out farther in front of the shoe than my Atlas or Northern Lights so tips catch extra too in the deeper power stuff. |
