MSR Evo is A Solid, Quality Snowshoe

The MSR Evo is a great buy if you're looking for quality snowshoes for hiking. I've had a pair for some time and recently purchased a second pair for my spouse. There are more expensive snowshoes made by MSR if you're looking for bells and whistles, such as a televator bar. But if you're looking for a solid hiking snowshoe without breaking your budget, I highly recommend this product. I should add that the pair I bought from ORSsnowshoesdirect.com came at a much better price than my first pair!
First Time Snow Shoers - Excellent Product!

My husband and I moved to New Hampshire 5 years ago, and we decided it was finally time to pick up a winter activity. Knowing NOTHING about snow shoeing we went to several of our local sporting goods stores in early January and quickly learned that any snow shoes that would work for us were out of stock! Plus, it seemed that no one was around who could answer one of a zillion questions we had about snow shoeing. Disappointed and unable to make a purchase, we came home and started poking around online. That's when we found ORS. We watched Onion Boy's You Tube snow shoe presentation and learned tons about the different features, characteristic's and models of snow shoes that were available. With packs and gear we reach or go over 200 pounds. That number seemed to mean we were doomed to a longer snow shoes until we saw the MSR snow shoe. Their EVO model- a much "shorter length" at only 22 inches worked at our weight and also offered an extension option for deeper snow. This seemed like a really good idea, less snow, no pack, meant we could have shorter shoes, deeper snow, need more shoe, simply add it on. We agreed that this was the shoe we wanted to try and purchased two pair of MSR EVO snowshoes with the extentions from ORS. In the last two weeks we've been out twice and love our EVO's! The shoes themselves are simple to put on with three individual straps that adjust securely and easily to any boot. Once they were on we were totally amazed at how sturdy they are and easy to walk in. Today was our second outing and the first time we went in deep snow (2 feet or more). We had no packs to speak of, but added the tail extensions to provide us with more lift. The tails were easy to put on and even though our shoes were now 28 inches long and they were still easy to walk in. Remember we are brand new to this! A future benefit we see with the MSR EVO's is that when family or company comes to visit, we have snow shoes that will fit practically anybody. There isn't a thing we would change about our EVO's. Thanks Onion Boy and ORS! You helped us make a great choice and buy shoes at a price we feel good about. We love snow shoeing and all the new fun we are having now. By the way, one last thing we love, our MSR's EVO's are AMERICAN MADE! |
