The MSR Lightning Ascent snowshoes and MSR Lightning snowshoes are both available in men's and women's versions. These models are the lightest go anywhere / all terrain snowshoe models on the market. For use in all types of conditions such as deep powder and untracked snow, technical & hilly terrain, prolonged steep vertical as well as variable snow types like heavy, wet snow and icy hardpack. The MSR Lightning Ascent includes a heel lift bar for more efficient extended climbing, as well as a somewhat more secure and stable binding strap system than the MSR Lightning snow shoe model. Both models also pack very flat for easy placement in a backpack when accessing remote backcountry snowboard and ski routes.
