 Love the Snowshoes
this MSR Lightning Axis women's snowshoes review by Patty
These are wonderful snowshoes - very light weight and great for a good basic snowshoe.
 First Snowshoes
this MSR Lightning Axis men's snowshoes review by FlynAlaska
Wonderful snowshoes!! They are lightweight yet super strong. The ridges down the outside of the frames give great traction on the ice. And the bindings once adjusted are quick and easy to use.
Well Made and Good for All Conditions
this MSR Lightning Axis women's snowshoes review by Barbie
I upgraded from my dad's old wood frame snowshoes that I've been using for a few years to these. What a world of difference! Light weight, fast, easy to use bindings, and toes that don't dive. These are well made and of sturdy construction. I went with the 30s as I am usually out in powder and not on any trails or packed snow. I didn't want to mess around with using tails all the time so I just went with the bigger shoes. You really don't notice that little extra length and I made the right choice. They stay on top of the snow quite well. The bindings stay very secure and my boots didn't slip a bit. Not sure about quick in any out as I leave my pac boots in them all the time. Made in USA with great warranty can't be beat. Great product!
Easy to Use and Totally Effective
this MSR Lightning Axis women's snowshoes review by Sue
I work outdoors and use them everyday. I inventory trees in a residential setting so I have to put them on and take them off frequently. The Speed Lock binding is great. They are lightweight and have loads of traction. I can also manuever in between trees easily without getting hung up on stuff. The video reviews on the ORS website were great and helped me decide which snowshoes to buy.
 Truly Innovative Product!
this MSR Lightning Axis snowshoes review by George from La Crosse
1) Traction: I found myself searching out the steepest hills I could find to test the limit of traction. I couldn't slide them! 2) Bindings: Once set up for your boot, they are very fast, secure, and comfortable. I can't imagine a better system exists. The middle binding strap is, in my opinion, unnecessary, and it's easy to remove. 3) Optional "tails" allow me to use 25" shoes. Even at 225 lbs, the 25" shoe is suitable for most conditions. For powder conditions, I'll use the tails. It's really nice not wearing excessively long shoes when you don't need the flotation (packed snow)--a brilliant innovation. 4) US-made...I'm happy to pay the premium price for a US-made MSR given that it's also the superior product. I don't know where the "other guys" (T#@bs) get off charging such high prices for low-cost Chinese shoes. 5) The outer frame is fairly stiff...if you have a lot of hard and uneven terrain(logs-rocks-ice), you might be better off with the flexible composite type (check out the EVO Tour).
 Probably the Best
this MSR Lightning Axis snowshoes review by NEW SHOES
We bought two pairs of MSR Lightning Axis snowshoes. They are great. We are first time snowshoers, and these are very easy to use. Nobody could believe that we had not snowshoed before. It must be the snowshoes, because it's not our talent. |
