Love the MSR Lightening
this MSR Lightning snowshoes review by Lake Tahoe Debbie
These snowshoes are awesome. And now I find myself here a year later ordering them in mens for my honey!
Highly Recommend the MSR Lightning
this MSR Lightning review by W. Parker
After trying out several other snowshoes at a demo, I decided to go with the Lightning from MSR. They are extremely lightweight first of all, which I liked a lot. They are also narrower, and I found that I was able to have a more natural stride when using them. The traction is unbeatable and the bindings are incredibly easy to use, even when wearing mittens. The way that they pivot is brilliant. They snowshoes drop enough to allow snow to shed off the tails, but they have a built in stopping point which makes turning around and stepping over obstacles a lot easier than with other designs. And the best thing is, they don’t fling snow on your back as the spring-loaded bindings tend to do. Lastly, and this has nothing to do with the performance, they pack together in about half the space of other brands. These are great snowshoes that I would highly recommend.
Overall These Are Great Snowshoes
this MSR Lightning review by outNabout
These snowshoes are definitely light, no question there. They say they are the lightest snowshoes in their class, and they are right. I mean you barely notice you’ve got them on. The traction is excellent in all conditions, from glorious, soft pow pow to nasty, manky hardpack snow and ice. The bindings work awesome too. They are easy to put on and take off and they are totally secure. I do wonder a bit about the durability of the rubber straps after being repeatedly stretched over the years but so far so good. Overall, these are great snowshoes. |
