Great Gaiters!

I purchased these gaiters for snowshoeing, and have worn them in many different conditions. I love these gaiters, and aside from my Tubbs wilderness series snowshoes, these are the next best product I have purchased from ORS Direct. These are very easy gaiters to use, and fit perfect. Easily adjustable, and very warm. These gaiters keep my legs dry and warm in west snow, deep powder, and even that terrible freezing rain! I would highly recommend this product for any of your outdoor winter hobbies.

I bought these gaiters to be used whilst snowshoeing. To my surprise, they arrived within several days, on the day my order receipt said that they would. I just used them for the first time today in knee-deep snow and they functioned perfectly. At no point was I uncomfortable or wet and they did not make my legs sweat. They fit tightly around my feet and I was surprised that the apparently leather strap around the heel of my shoe showed no sign of damage, even though I was wearing tennis ankle-height hiking shoes without a "high heel" and there was just a tiny gap under there. I also visited several other places after taking my snowshoes off and still no damage, so they seem to be just the right thickness and quality. The gaiters also fit well under the bindings of my Atlas 11 Series snowshoes and are easy to put on and remove. The only negative things I have to say are mostly trivial. The way that the top strap is fastened doesn't quite line up with the rest of the gaiter, as if it was placed to high up, but this did not affect the performance in any discernable way. Lastly, the fit was slightly off for me. I wear size 46EU/13US shoes and the XL was still barely large enough to fit in my large hiking boots. I ended up exchanging those for the smaller shoes mentioned above and probably for the better, as I can run in the snowshoes because of the lighter hiking boots. I recommend determining the correct size by looking both at shoe size and leg size. My legs are rather sleek but I have big feet. Luckily the top is adjustable so this was the correct size for me. In conclusion, all of the research I did on gaiters has paid off and these will see me through the harsh winter and ensure that I remain comfortable at all times. If these are as durable as reviews say they are then my rating will change to five. Enjoy!

Got these to wear while snowshoeing and BC skiing. I got an XL...fits great on my size 12s, but a little big for my size 11s.

Lightweight, tough, easy to get on and adjust. The only reason I didn't give them a 5 out of 5 was that I think they need an adjust of some sort (elastic or draw string) on the bottom part that goes around the shoe itself. I used the sizing chart and could have went with a medium or large. Chose large because of my calf size but my shoes are only an 8.5 and that leaves a little gap between my shoe and the sides of the gaitor. So far no problems with snow packing up in there but I have only worn them with my snowshoes and the bindings of the snowshoes squeeze down the gaps. Overall though, a great product, extremely happy. |
