These Snowshoes Have Everything!

I had the opportunity to try out a pair of the TSL Escape snowshoes at a demo last year and compare them with other types of snowshoes. After trying multiple models from different brands, I felt that the Escapes were the best pair for me. I wanted durability above everything and these, with their composite decking, have that. I wanted good traction. These have so much you could literally walk up a frozen waterfall. And I wanted a binding that was easy to adjust but more importantly, I wanted them to stay tight during use. I’ve had a pair that required constant readjusting and that is the worst! These hit on all my criteria, and best of all, they are made in the US!

I got a pair of TSL Escape snowshoes for Christmas. I had asked for snowshoes and was expecting a pair of Tubbs or Atlas. When I first saw these, I was like, “What the heck?” They don’t look like normal snowshoes, but they work great and I have gotten used to the fact that they don’t look a lot like regular snowshoes. I’ve tested them out on all different types of terrain and they work equally as good. They grip well, they keep you afloat, and the bindings are very comfortable. And they don’t bang together when you walk. That is a very nice feature that I hadn’t expected. They also have a great heel lifter that really makes a difference when you’re hiking uphill. The Escapes are great! Get a pair!
