How Did I Do It Before?
this women's Tubbs Couloir snowshoes review by Liz
All I can say is: What a difference! These snowshoes made it so much easier. Great grip for steep inclines as well as easy rolling terrain. Made my snowshoeing so much more enjoyable. I really like the straps on the front, feels much more secure.
Overall Bombproof!
this men's Tubbs Couloir snowshoes review by Troy
Only had these a short time, but these shoes are the Timex of snowshoes. I travel over many different Colorado snow types (powder to pack) and depths in various terrains (brush, rock, etc), steep & flat and these hold up to the abuse. Great traction and side-stride stability. The only modification I made, which Tubbs should consider on future models is to eliminate the inside heel strap guide slot. This feature, as is, does not allow the heel strap to stay on some boot styles, especially if your wearing a XC ski boot. I do not encourage voiding any warranty, but snipping the hard plastic guide slot will allow the strap to be rotated further up on the boot heel making it virtually impossible to slip out of. Tubbs should have realized this as the adjusting buckle on the outside rotates easily to accomodate a higher strap height. The heel lift feature is always a nice plus too. Overall bomber snow shoe!
Wow! Great Snow Shoes!
this men / women Tubbs Couloir snowshoes review by Tom
Easy on and off. Great materials thoughout. Very aggressive uphill and downhill (the traction is outstanding.) The light weight is nice. Super shoes. Just don't expect perfection in super deep powder where traditional shoes work best. I'm ordering a pair for my wife too.
Alpen Glowing
this women's Tubbs Couloir snowshoes review by Alpine Mountain Rancher
After years of plodding along in snowshoes which wouldn't stay tight in the binding, clanked together unless I walked like a chimp, and operated like banana peels on downhill powder, at last I found my "feet." These are light, easy to use, and easily fit on my Sorel pac boots. I've trudged in deep steep powder breaking trails, along icy deadfall-laden river bottoms, and icy road plow berms, all the while finding these a joy to walk in. I love how they look, too, and how I can chop icy snow flat with the aggressive teeth when keeping a trail open, for example. Where I live we get over 400 inches of snow each winter, and the sunsets on the mountain gives us what is called "Alpen Glow", which is what these shoes give me - a beautiful, tranquil mountain winter experience!
Easy On and Off
this Tubbs Couloir review by N. Sewell
Excellent binding works really easy even after walking in slush. I do a lot of walking on our lake which has all types of conditions, powder, hard pack and slush. The Tubbs Couloir snow shoes work excellent in all of these conditions. Even after walking through slush with the bindings covered with ice they work excellent, they stayed tight and come off easy.
Great in All Conditions
this Tubbs Couloir review by F. Williams
I recently purchased a pair of the Tubbs Couloir snowshoes. I was planning on getting the Wilderness models to save a few bucks, but when I saw how much more side to side articulation the bindings had, as well as how much more supportive they looked, I changed my mind. I am glad I did change my mind, because these snowshoes are awesome and I love everything about them. They just work great in all conditions and terrain types. You won’t be let down if you buy these snowshoes.
Excellent Snowshoe for Women
this women's Tubbs Couloir review by rainbows
Thank goodness Tubbs makes women’s snowshoes. Because of the frame shape and the smaller bindings, snowshoeing is so much more enjoyable than it used to be, in the days when the tails would bang together if you didn’t alter your walk and the bindings would never be snug enough. The Women’s Couloir are the perfect pair of snowshoes for any woman who is tired of putting up with snowshoes that don’t fit properly. And they look great too.
Bindings are the Best!
this women's Tubbs Couloir review by WinterLover
The Tubbs Couloir snowshoes are great. I picked them because they were the first to have a binding that looked easy to use. My old snowshoes had horrible bindings that were hard to adjust and were an extraordinary effort to get into and get out of. These are effortless. Just pull to tighten and pull to loosen. No more buckles or multiple adjustments. I have the women’s model and I can say that the tapered design really works! You don’t clank the tails together, which is so nice. They are nice and light as well. I recommend them!
Highy Recommend
this Tubbs Couloir review by James H.
I have the Tubbs Couloir snowshoes and have had a lot of fun with them. I’ve hiked mountains, meandered about in the forest, used them to cut our christmas tree down and haul it out of the woods, among other things. They are great snowshoes that anyone would appreciate. Excellent grip, great binding, durable, light, all that good stuff. Highly recommended. |
