Winner Best Woman Snowshoes of the Year!
this woman Tubbs Flex Alp snowshoes review by HeatherNH
Since I bought it I love it! Easy to use. Great on icy trails flat and steep. Light weight no problems with straps. Straps don't get in the way. Adjustable is easy. Great on off trails and on trails. I have no regrets since I bought it. If anyone ever unsure and first time buying first rent from EMS or other stores, that's what I did. They didn't have Flex Alp but did have other Tubbs Flex and other snowshoes from different brands. They have more teeth at the bottom unlike other Tubbs. The price at the ORS Snowshoes Direct site is great, costs less and very affordable, unlike it would cost at other retails stores, which is costly. Free shipping and good deals. First time buying from here and I will do again!! Cheers!!
 Very Pleased

I am very pleased with this product! My first time out on these was on a mix of crusty, icy, and soft snow. I was able to maneuver well. The bindings are great - easy on and off.
Perfect for Ultra Steep Technical Hikes
this women's Tubbs Flex Alp snowshoes review by ADK Hiker
I made the mistake of using my other longer Tubbs snowshoes on a technical and long/steep hike in the Adirondack mountains -- they were too long and the trail too narrow - kept getting caught. And they were not aggressive enough for the really steep ledges so I kept sliding back. Since I wanted to do more winter high peaks in the Dacks, I debated buying either these or the MSR snow shoes. I decided on these after doing a lot of research - the bindings and side crampons sold me. The Flex bindings are super easy to tighten and loosen, even with mittens. My only tiny complaint is that the straps wouldn't stay put in the holder so finally after tripping a few times, I just tucked them in the front boot grip which worked fine. These shoes excel in steep ascents especially with the heel lifts. It's hard to put into words how much less strenuous this steep climb was using these amazing heel lifters. My friends were jealous. The flex of these shoes was super comfortable and the front crampon and curved side crampons were perfect for the long, steep ascent. Descending was also very easy and I didn't find myself tripping over myself (plus, we had to go over a lot of downed trees, and since they are short, they are perfect for that). We ended up on our feet for almost 9 hours in deep snow, packed snow and lots of climbing and these were super comfortable and grippy all the way around. I could not have summitted these two ADK high peaks without these snowshoes. I love them!
Great for steep slopes and for all-around use!
this Tubbs Flex Alp snowshoes review by CatskillHiker
I have been using MSR Lightning Ascents for hiking on steep slopes. Their grip is great but their bindings are poor. The grip of the Alp snowshoes seems to be as good and the bindings are MUCH BETTER. I have only used them on a few hikes so I cannot comment on longevity. They are a little heavy but very well built. The front crampon gets a good bite into the snow and the serrated steel that runs the length of the shoe keeps it!
 Very Comfortable Gait!
this women's Tubbs Flex Alp snowshoes review by High-Heeled Hiker
I researched women's snowshoes a long time. I chose these because I had read that due to their size, shape and flexibility, one can keep a very natural gait. Also, the backcountry nature of my hikes requires lot of traction. Given the elevation gain of my first planned trek, I was very excited to try out the heel lift (I call them my "high heels"). After using them 3 times I am very happy with them. I hardly feel like I have snowhoes on. I used them for the 4 hour up-hill hike (Colorado Rockies near Aspen) and they were EASIER to walk in than I had hoped. One slight glitch was that the "high heel" of one snowshoe was a bit difficult to put down and I needed to get help from my companion in order to do this without taking the snowshoe off. That night, I repeatedly put it up and down until it loosened up a bit and the next day it was not a problem. I am 125 lbs and carried a 25 lb pack on packed trails quite happily. I also have done day trips into very deep loose powder without carrying much weight and they did well. I sunk a bit into very powdery deep snow around tree wells but it is so easy to pull them back up and keep walking that it was great fun. The binding is very user friendly. The strap ends occasionally fell out of their clips (twice in 4 hours) but I have added rubber bands to solve that problem. I don't think you will be disappointed with these snowshoes.
 Excellent for backcountry
this Tubbs Flex Alp snowshoes review by Alaina
The Tubbs Alp Flex is excellent at what it is designed for, back country snowshoeing. The traction, stabililty and float allow for easy travelling through deep snow, off-camber trails and hills. After shoeing several times on different terrains in different types of snow, the only time the shoe did not function well was on a rocky mountain top where most of the snow had blown off of the trail. The aggressive bottom of the shoe made it unstable for walking on the rocks and travelling was easier without the shoes. Others with lower profile shoes did not seem to have this problem, but they were not as stable as other shoes in deep snow on hilly terrain.
 So Far Rather Disappointed
this women Tubbs Flex Alp snowshoes review by Sageleaf
I had researched all Snowshoes for easy on, easy off, availability and durability of bindings. Special attention given to the problem of snow build up under the ball of the foot under wet heavy snow conditions. My other snowshoes were extremely uncomfortable when this happened. This was a major factor in buying a new pair. I have worn my new Tubbs Flex Alp 2010 at least five times now and two out of the five it's been wet snow. There was a huge ball of compacted snow under my left snowshoe, again making it quite uncomfortable. Extremely disappointed! Everything I had read said that this would not happen. I just put $200.00 into these new shoes and can't send them back. In these hard times it was not easy to have made the decision of paying this price. From everything that I had heard Tubbs was the best out there.
 Awesome Snow Shoes
this Tubbs Flex Alp snowshoes review by WORM
These are my second pair of snowshoes and these blow the last pair out of the water. The binding system is quick, tight, comfortable, and easy to put on/take off. Super easy to walk in and perform on all terrain very well. It is very well put together and I recommend this product to anyone who loves to tromp around the mountains.
Novice snowshoer finds these easy to use
this Tubbs Flex Alp women snowshoes review by T. Messer
I had only been snowshoeing once before I got the FLEX Alps so I don't have much to compare to, but overall I'm very happy with them. Pros: Comfortable to walk in, lightweight, felt could go anyway in them -very easy to walk up steep terrain on icy surface or deep snow. Cons: Not super easy to get on, though gets easier with each try. Wet snow did occasionally ball up and I would have to hit them or use my pole to try to get the snow to dislodge.
