Now I Look Forward to Walking On Snow
this Tubbs Frontier snowshoes review by John - Upstate New York Hunter
I have been snowshoeing for over 30 years. I wear them while hunting my Beagles on snow. I used to dread putting on the older style snowshoes and buckling them up and hoping they would stay on. I recently bought a pair of Tubbs Frontiers and what a difference they made. They go on quickly and securly even with large pack boots. I could walk without feeling like I was bow legged, I was able to go through brush open country and never got tired. When hunting our hounds on snow we are out in all weather conditions for a minimum of 3-4 hours. I can't wait to go out again soon. With these snow shoes on you walk normal as if almost on bare ground. I can enjoy the sport of beagling while feeling totally comfortable in the worst conditions. Thank you all at ORS, your videos are accurate and your shipping surpasses all others.
Easy to Put On and Secure Footing On Hills
this Tubbs Frontier women snowshoes review by Nancy
These are perfect for breaking trails and exploring hilly places off the beaten path. I have knee problems and with these snowshoes I feel secure and strong while walking with little fear of slipping or falling. I recommended these to my friends.
 Great Snowshoes!
this Tubbs Frontier snow shoe review by Jean
Read a lot of reviews before buying these. The Frontiers are great! So easy to put on. They stay on securely, too; both my husband and I use them with our Rockies boots. If you put the securing mechanism for the back foot strap on the inside of your foot, it is easy to adjust by yourself. Both my husband and I share the men's pair of 25's, as I am within the bottom of the range and he is within the higher (even if he adds some weight).
 Couldn't Be Easier & A Great Value
this Tubbs Frontier review by the WinterHiker4
The Tubbs Frontier snowshoes that I just bought have reinvigorated my desire to snowshoe and it’s all because of the bindings. For years, I dealt with bindings that were a hassle to adjust, and even when you thought you had them adjusted, they would loosen soon after heading out. The Frontiers have bindings that so easy to adjust, you just pull two straps, one with each hand, away from the foot, and they wrap around the foot secure and snug. Then you tighten the heel strap and they stay adjusted for the duration. To release, you simply undo the heel strap with one motion and pull on the release tab to undo the front of the binding. Couldn’t be easier. They are a great value and I recommend them for sure.
Great Product at a Great Deal!
this Tubbs Frontier snowshoes review by the K.Stenseth
Great deal and great product with free shipping. Worth buying online vs. in a store in order to get the right product (Tubbs 36" Frontier). I would purchase from the ORS website again in the future. They have a great selection from all of the different sites I visited in order to find the right product.
A Great Improvement Over older Models
this Tubbs Frontier review by Michael
I own a pair of Tubbs Frontier snowshoes. They are a new purchase for me. I have an older pair of Tubbs that have served me well over the years, but they’ve reached the end of their usable life and I have retired them. I wanted to stick with Tubbs because I like the fully rotating toe cord, which lets snow fall of the tail of the snowshoe with every step. I’ve seen other types where the snow gets sprung onto your back. I personally don’t think that is a very good thing. I’ve had good luck with these so far. The bindings are very easy to use and support the boot well and the traction is top notch. The improvements from the older models make these worlds better.
 Frontier Makes Exercise Fun!
this women's Tubbs Frontier review by Jen
I love my Tubbs snowshoes! I have the Frontier Women’s 25” and I have been so happy with them! There are some great trails in our local park, which I love to use, but I find that I like to wander off the trail and see where I end up. They do the job they’re supposed to do: prevent me from sinking into the snow and provide a very stable platform for stepping. I usually wear a pair of heavy winter boots that have no problems sliding into the bindings. The bindings themselves are great. Very easy to use and getting out is a snap with the pull of one tab in the front and one pull of a strap in the back. These things make exercise fun!
 Nice Shoe
this Tubbs Frontier women's snowshoes review by N. Churchill
These snow shoes are good for non-expedition trekking. They float well and go on easy. The only negative is the heel strap does not stay secure well on a rounded boot.
 Good for Most Purposes
this Tubbs Frontier review by Marco H.
I have enjoyed my Tubbs Frontiers so far, but I do wish I had paid more attention to a few details when I was shopping. I wasn’t interested in spending more money than necessary, and at the time, it seemed that these would suit my needs. For the most part they do, however, I find that they slip on steep descent, and the bindings don’t really have that much support. They’re totally fine on flat or rolling terrain, but on more challenging terrain your foot seems to want to slip out of place. That being said, they are still fine snowshoes for most purposes.
 Fun in the Snow!

The most fun I've ever had playing in the snow!
 Advice for Heel Strap
this Tubbs Frontier womens snowshoes review by Brenda
Borrowed a pair of older Tubbs snowshoes over the Christmas break & loved it so much I decided to buy a pair. I chose the Women's Frontier model. I love them, but on the 2nd time out I had a slight problem with the heel strap staying in place. I have read a few other comments on other web sites in regard to this, but here is my advice. Make sure your boot is snug in the front & most importantly put the slider for the strap directly behind the "buckle". Went out today in deep powdery snow,on a trail through the woods, etc. & the heel strap never shifted. The deeper the snow the more I love these snowshoes--they are a great value for the price & ORS Snowshoes Direct has great customer service & fast shipping! |
